Poly CCX 400 IP Phone supports Android 9. It is a rumor that Poly is working on a new firmware that will allow users to install the respective mobile app from any of the main Ucas VoIP service providers directly on the phone. This means that the provisioning issues go out of the window if the firmware allows people to be able to install their direct VoIP service provider mobile app. The second biggest thing is that the user experience is the same for everybody so all the models will provide a consistent experience with the app.

First Impressions

Poly CCX 400 IP Phone has a great design and finishing. It is powered by Android 9 and offers a color-touch display. It is easy to provision and it supports Poly’s signature HD Voice. It has also got a speakerphone which is the entire bottom half of the base. As is the case with Poly’s CC series phones, there are no physical buttons on this phone.

Everything is touch-supported. Apart from the mute, volume up and down, and speakerphone touch buttons, Poly CCX 400 IP Phone has a virtual keyboard to be able to respond to the message, enter contacts, etc.

Microsoft Teams Support

On starting, Poly CCX 400 IP Phone asks to choose a base profile. There are three options there named Generic, Skype for Business, and Microsoft Teams. Typically, IP Phone companies tend to manufacture separate IP Phones for different uses but Poly CCX 400 IP Phone can be generic which means it can be connected with any of the service providers of choice or it can be used with Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams. You can simply pick it from the profile menu.

Interfaces

On the back of the Poly CCX 400 IP Phone base, there is a key lock slot, 5V AC power plug, LAN Port in, Passthrough, RJ9 Headset Jack, and Port to connect handset cable. Also, this device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). However, it is recommended to double-check the box for power supply if you get this from a third-party provider.

On the side of the Poly CCX 400 IP Phone, there is one USB port that can be used for headset support or media storage. The kickstand can be used to adjust to two fixed angles. One angle gives a high view of the phone while the other one is a bit lower. 

Technical Specifications

Poly CCX 400 is a gesture-based IP Phone that has a 5-inch multi-touch screen. The resolution on this phone is 720 by 1280 pixels with an aspect ratio of 9 by 16. It has an on-screen virtual keyboard and it also can change and control the screen saver. Finally, from the display point of view, it has a normal and a dark mode and it also has an adjustable font size selection.

Poly CCX 400 IP Phone has a solid build and a sleek modern design and it is Poly’s next generation of IP Phone. This phone is wall-mountable but the kit has to be bought separately. Supporting a full-duplex speakerphone, it is multi-lingual so it can be set to different languages other than just English. Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Japanese, Italian, German, and French are a few from the list. It is a bit surprising that Poly CCX 400 IP Phone does not support Bluetooth or Wi-Fi natively. However, an optional dongle or adaptor can be used for connectivity.

Depending upon where you get Poly CCX 400 IP Phone from, it goes for around $340.
