​Apart from the IP Phone itself, the Poly Edge B10 box contains the quick start guide, a detailed manual containing the contents in multiple languages, handset, kickstand, CAT5E cable, handset cable to connect the handset to the base of the phone, and power adaptor.

First Impressions

Poly Edge B10 IP Phone has a matt look, and it follows a modern design pattern compared to older Poly phones. It has two buttons next to the monochrome screen that depicts the two-line capability of the phone.

​There are typical function keys that signify the functions on the screen. Below the screen, there is a typical direction pad to move the control up, down, left, and right.
Finally, it has a numeric keypad for dialing phone numbers, a home button to get out of different options, volume up and down keys, mute button, headset button, and speakerphone button.

Interfaces and Outlets

Poly Edge B10 IP Phone is strange as there is no Power over Ethernet (POE) support which truly makes this an entry-level phone. There is a 5V AC Adaptor port, network port to plug in the internet cable, passthrough port, RJ-9 to use the handset, and a key lock port. Also, there is a 3.5mm headset port on the side of the phone for easy communication.

Technical Specifications

Poly Edge B10 IP Phone is a 2-line capable phone to perform two simultaneous calls. It is easy to plug and play because of the convenient setup with smart business features. Also, it offers crisp audio as it provides Poly’s signature HD voice and acoustic fence technology.

While this phone has the capability for two-line simultaneous calls, it supports eight-line key assignments supported with pagination, so it can have up to eight-line capability using the menus and actual virtual lines within the phone.

Poly Edge B10 IP Phone supports a 2.8-inch monochrome LCD, and it has an adjustable desk stand. It supports wall mounting, but just like other IP phones, the wall mount is not included in the box. The features keys below the screen include four context-sensitive soft keys, four-way navigation, volume control keys, hold and back button keys, hold and transfer keys, headset select key, speakerphone select key, and mute key.

​Although Poly Edge B10 IP Phone is an entry-level phone, it still has a lot of features such as shared call, busy lamp field, call waiting, call timer, call transfer, call hold, call pickup, call resume, missed call notification, do not disturb, intercoms, enhanced call park, caller ID, one-touch speed dial, call return, call forward on busy, distinctive incoming call treatment, live 5-way audio conferencing, no answer or unconditional, block anonymous call, and repeat dialing. It also claims to have an advanced noise cancellation feature to be used in a noisy environment.

Pros and Cons

Poly Edge B10 IP Phone is very modern because of its matt finish. Also, it is really easy to use as the screen, buttons, and different ports are laid out ergonomically, so users of all levels can use it.
Poly Edge B10 IP Phone has many call features, but it is affordable for startups and small businesses because of its small price tag.
Poly Edge B10 IP Phone has a 3.5mm headset jack. Many users use headsets and earphones to answer calls so they can be used.
Poly Edge B10 IP Phone does not provide USB support for a headset, and it does not natively support wireless. More headsets today are USB and wireless. Although it does have RJ-9 to connect headsets, there is no latest headset connectivity option on this phone.
Poly Edge B10 IP Phone does not support Power over Ethernet (POE).
Instead of the gigabit passthrough, the Poly Edge B10 IP Phone has a 10 100 passthrough.
