What’s in the box?
Apart from the phone itself, Poly Edge B20 IP Phone has got the instruction manual, quick start guide, handset, 1-meter/3-foot CAT5E cable, a kickstand for angle adjustment, and handset cable to connect the handset to the phone.
First Impressions
Poly Edge B20 IP Phone has a nice matte black color. It has a smooth finish and sleek design. Although it is not reminiscent of the Poly VVX series, it has similar buttons. Under the handset, it has a bit of speakerphone, and it offers Poly signature HD voice.
Looking at the buttons and options on the front of the phone, at the top half, there is a monochrome screen which is typical with most of the newer Poly entry-level phones. Standard function keys allow hovering the phone and navigating different options.
In the top middle, there are directional keys and home keys. The keypad below the directional keys is similar to the older Poly phones, but the buttons are circular, making it more streamlined. Other button options include call transfer, place a call on hold, volume up and down button, etc.
Interfaces and Outlets
There is a crucial lock up on the back of the Poly Edge B20 IP Phone, which is typical with most IP Phones. The kickstand on this phone is different from any other Poly phone because of its angle and adjustability. In terms of ports, there is a standard 5V AC adaptor port and network port for CAT5 and CAT6 cables.
Also, this phone is Power over Ethernet (POE) supported, so it is a plus. Other port options include a passthrough port which is gigabit, and an RJ-9 headset jack on the side for headset support. This phone is wall mountable as there is also a wall-mount adjustment option on the back of the kickstand section; however, the wall-mount kit is not included in the box.
Specifications
Poly Edge B20 IP Phone supports two-line capabilities. It does help eight-line key assignments with supported pagination. As is the case with many other Poly phones, the Poly Edge B20 IP Phone can have more than just two simultaneous line capabilities through virtual lines or digital lines within the actual menus. It also supports fast Ethernet and POE, so it is gigabit.
Poly Edge B20 IP Phone has volume control keys, home key, feature keys, hold and transfer keys, headset key, speakerphone key, and mute key. It supports Poly HD voice to deliver lifelike voice quality for the handset and speakerphone. It also provides Poly HD voice through the headset if connected, making it great talk-time.
The speakerphone of the Poly Edge B20 IP Phone is also a full-duplex as it supports delayed audio packet transmissions. Another specification and feature that the Poly B20 supports is local five-way audio conferencing.
Some of the other significant parts of this phone include a one-touch speed dial, missed call notifications, do not disturb function, intercom, enhanced call park, caller ID, enable and disable call forward on busy, no answer unconditional message, weighing indicators, call progress tone, distinctive generator ringtones, electronic hook switch capable anonymous call dictation, block unknown call capability, etc.
