General Controls
The central hub of the Vonage Mobile App is the dialpad, where users can easily initiate outbound calls. Contact Management
The contact management section, situated on the lower left side of the app, offers a user-friendly interface. Upon initial use, the app requests access to contacts, which can be granted for all contacts or exclusively for business phone contacts. The directory feature organizes contacts within the application. Notably, a presence feature is integrated into the contact system, enabling users to identify online contacts with a green dot. Additionally, there’s a straightforward way to manage favorite contacts, facilitating quick communication with frequently collaborated team members.
Texting
Vonage’s text messaging feature empowers businesses to provision their marketed numbers for text and multimedia messaging. This means that individual phone numbers are automatically enabled for text messaging, but the app allows further customization.
It is possible to enable local school numbers for text messages, providing a versatile means for customers to connect with your business. The text message section categorizes messages in the top menu, filters multimedia content in the middle section, and offers access to voicemails.
A unique offering is the Visual Voicemail feature, where Vonage provides transcriptions alongside voice messages. This enhances accessibility and ensures that important messages can be understood even when listening in real-time isn’t an option.
New Feature
In response to customer feedback, Vonage has introduced a highly requested feature in its call settings. Users can now distinguish ringtones for internal and external calls, streamlining call management and providing a clear indication of the call’s origin.
