Yealink T33G IP Phone Unboxing & First Impressions

Yealink T33G is an entry-level VOIP Phone that can be used in offices, homes, or anywhere to communicate professionally. It can be regarded as a standard device for calling because it includes almost all the basic features required to carry out effective two-way dialogue. In this article, Rich Technology Group uncovers the details mentioned by Yealink regarding this phone along with the pros and cons.

Unboxing and First Impressions

In the Yealink T33G  IP Phone box, you will find:

Apart from the features and functionalities of the phone, this quickstart guide has got the contents of the handset, handset cord, and an Ethernet cable.

As compared to other models of Yealink IP phones, T33G IP Phones have got an entry-level look. The chassis of this phone is very basic and the entire color of the phone is matt black. Like the other Yealink phones, it has got the signature HD voice capability. The standard speakerphone is placed right behind the actual headset. Also, the buttons on the base are marked colored i.e. green for available and red if the phone is on hold or blinking, so it has got the pretty typical Yealink phone look.

On the back of Yealink T33G, there is an internet port that you can plug your Ethernet cable in no matter it is coming from a wall plug or router switch that can be used to connect the phone to the internet.

The other port next to this is the PC outlet which is a pass-through. So, if you have only one outlet on the wall, you can use this one to connect. Next to both of these ports, there is a 5V DC adaptor for anyone to connect to the phone.

Finally, there is a port to connect the headset and phone on the side. This is for external headsets; if you use an RJ-9 plugin.

Specifications

Yealink T33G is classified as an entry-level phone on Yealink’s website. Following 2.4 inches 320 by the 240-pixel color display, it has a backlit color display screen. It has Power over Ethernet support so, you can avoid conventional charging mechanisms.

Also, it follows Yealink’s popular HD Voice and it has a dual-port Gigabit Ethernet port which is useful on many occasions. To be able to not only offer really good HD voice but also utilize internet bandwidth in the best way possible; makes this phone an optimal choice for business communication.

Yealink T33G IP Phone Unboxing & First Impressions

Yealink T33G has up to four SIP accounts which means that it can be used simultaneously by four people for calling. However, keep in mind to use a shared line appearance rather than a digital shared line appearance. It has unified firmware support for YDMP and YMCS. Also, it has a local five-way conferencing so that is impressive. A lot of customers reach out to Rich Technology Group saying that they have a three-way phone and they wanted a five-way local phone so they have to pay an extra fee to the provider to get the conference bridge. Thus, to avoid all of this, Yealink T33G can be considered as a first choice.

The power supply of Yealink T33G is sold separately and it can be used with the Yealink EHS 35 cord which is coming soon with the Yealink wireless headset. This ultimately means that this phone does not support wireless connectivity to other brand headsets. Thus, to connect wirelessly, you can use an adaptor or third-party dongle.

This phone comes with a stand having two adjustable angles. So, you can set it up according to your desk height. Also, it is mountable but it does not come with a wall mount so it has to be purchased separately if needed.

Pros and Cons

Available at around $86 to $90, the Yealink T33G IP Phone has a really good entry-level price.
A lot of providers are starting to adopt Yealink T33G as the freephone they offer in their contract and promotions because of its standard features.
Yealink T33G IP Phone has a four-line capacity so most of the companies tend to find it pretty exceptional considering the case that it can be used at four different locations within a space.
Although Yealink T33G does not have a lot of vibrant colors and eye-catching buttons, this phone is ergonomic which is usually the case with Yealink phones. Also, every button and option is placed at the right place on the screen so it is easy to move around and select different options.
Yealink T33G IP Phone has got its signature HD Voice quality. It has got a great speakerphone. Also, the gigabit Ethernet port and pass-through are a huge plus.
Yealink T33G IP Phone has got a five-way conferencing which is a big deal. Most of the phones that Rich Technology Group has reviewed, including the expensive ones, only support three-way conferencing so to have this feature included without using a three-way conference-style phone and without paying an extra monthly cost for a conference bridge is a big advance.
Yealink T33G IP Phone does not support Bluetooth. As a lot of entry-level IP phones are starting to include Bluetooth, the inclusion of Bluetooth in the T33G IP phone would have increased its utility.
As the world is moving towards remote working, minimizing and optimizing the desk space should be considered a necessity. Yealink T33G IP phone does not follow this pattern because it is a big footprint so it takes up a lot of space.
There is no support available for Yealink T33G IP Phone so in case there are some technical problems, a person has to figure it out on its own.
There is no USB port on Yealink T33G which is a letdown in many cases. USB ports in the phone can be used for charging external devices. Also, they are included as a way for some storage devices to preserve recordings so not having such a port in this phone is a con.
